This session will focus on the newly revised Career Technical Education/HECT Model Curriculum Standards for Consumer and Family Studies (CFS) and Home Economics Related Occupations (HERO) career pathways in the three HECT Industry Sectors. Emphasis will be given to using standards in HECT courses to develop career pathway education sequences, including CFS exploratory, introductory and concentration courses and a HERO capstone course. Teachers will learn ways to implement the standards into units of study, daily lesson plans, and develop assessment strategies reflecting the new standards. Each participant will receive new resources including the Consumer and Family Studies Implementation Guide.
